This October the company will be kicking off a series of monthly workshops based off of the technique Hannah Cullen has been devising with cullen+them. Workshops will include principles of the movement/speech technique, guided improvisation, writing, partnering and group discussion.
The goal of the adult workshops is to heighten our awareness of our bodies in relation to others in the space. We blur the line between pedestrian and performer, and ask you to bring your whole self into the room. We ask for honesty, vulnerability, trust and for empathy.
WHEN: October 30th 4-6pm
WHERE: Gus Solomons Studio, 889 Broadway #4A

Quotes from past participants:
“I grew up watching Hannah dance but was always just an amazed spectator. I decided to come try out one of her workshops. Hannah was able to make the class accessible to me, someone who has taken zero dance classes, while still challenging her peers who consider themselves part of the “dance world”. Hannah kept the workshop interesting while still being both meaningful and doable on all levels!”
“Workshop TWO was such a lovely experience for me. I thought that the warm-up that we did together was very powerful. We had the space to have a very intimate moment with ourselves while being in community. After the warm-up exercise, where we allowed ourselves to be internal, it was easier to be external yet grounded for those around us. From a place of self-love we got to learn about one another through story telling, touch, and movement.”
