cullen+them is holding a week-long intensive in New York City for young artists ages 12-15. This dance and theater intensive will encourage honest dialogue, collaboration and thoughtful creative practice. Led by the cullen+them company members, the daily schedule will consist of movement technique, improvisation, composition, partnering, acting and writing.
Throughout the week we will work as a group to devise a performance piece in conversation with the topic of climate change to be shared at the end of the intensive. Participants will be asked to share their opinions and feelings throughout the creation process so that the artwork we make as a group is a representation of our collective consciousness.
In addition to being a fun and safe space to develop their creative voice, the goal of this intensive is to provide an opportunity for young people to engage in a meaningful artistic experience that emphasizes the power and impact of art-making.
